Shopping cart danger: 66 kids hurt a day, study finds
Tue Jan 21, 2014
It's not the carts that are the problem: it's the lazy parents that don't buckle their kids in & don't tell them "NO" when they try to unbuckle. Sorry, I have 5 kids (now ages 14-29) and none of them ever tried more than once to unbuckle or climb out of a cart. You just have to tell them "NO" an …
5 lessons learned from Target security breach
Fri Dec 27, 2013
The banks are part of the problem on this one too. I went in to my bank this morning to request a new card after seeing that the PIN numbers had been compromised and they tried very hard to talk me out of it. Kept telling me that "they had already notified all of their customers whose cards had been …
Do stay-at-home moms need a 'postnup'?
Wed Dec 18, 2013
I've been a stay-at-home mom for the past 14 years, after having worked 55 hours a week for the previous 19 in a very lucrative position. NO, I don't think I need a post-nup agreement with my husband-who thankfully has a job that has allowed me to be able to stay home with our kids. If we quit focus …
'You're not invited' alerts: New wedding trend draws criticism
Thu Feb 7, 2013
No matter what your budget or venue, it's just plain rude to tell people they aren't invited. When I married we had a limited budget, so we had a nice, simple, family reception at the church (buffet for all our out of town family) and then had a private party/reception at our home later that evening …
Dental chain accused of hurting kids, bilking taxpayers
Tue Dec 11, 2012
This just makes me furious I worked in dental for 20 years and never worked for anyone that abused children like this.
Trampolines are no place for kids, docs warn
Mon Sep 24, 2012
Absolutely agree with you all. As the parent of 5 VERY active kids, over the years we have had several bike accidents requiring stitches, a combined 7 broken bones (one while walking & slipped and fell-maybe I shouldn't have allowed her to walk!), and so many sprains, bumps and bruises that I ca …
Rhode Island school bans father-daughter dances, says they break the law

Life is not fair. Too bad your child's dad CHOOSES not to participate in her life but don't punish everyone else who's dad does!
Did 'Heart Attack' burger claim a second victim at Vegas diner?
Mon Apr 23, 2012
Absolutely! When will personal responsibility make a comeback? It's not like anyone forces people to eat this much food at one sitting. They voluntarily walk into the establishment and order it, and then try to eat it! Don't blame the restaurant, blame the patron.
Geraldo Rivera blames hoodie for Trayvon's death; critics tell him to zip it up
Fri Mar 23, 2012
I'm always amazed that attitudes like this continue to exist in this day & age. What a sad testament to our culturally diverse population.
'Healthy Happy Meal' doesn't have to be an oxymoron
Fri Mar 9, 2012
You are absolutely correct. All 5 of my kids have had fast-food during their lives and none are overweight. Because we are an active family & fast-food is an occasional treat. It's all about moderation and taking care of your body.
